Last week I was very excited to be back in glamorous Monte Carlo, with our Director and cast of “Lady Luck”, attending the Monaco International Film Awards.
It was a huge honour that “Lady Luck” beat thousands of competing films to be screened at the festival! Watching an audience as they watched our film on the big screen, and reacted to it so positively, was such a joy, and a first for me. We also watched a lot of other brilliant films.
To top off an incredible week, we even scooped an award! “Lady Luck” is a film about a little boy (Adam Thomas-Wright) trying to win back his mother’s love (me) and my co-star Adam won Best Newcomer 2014!! It was a wonderful moment when he stepped onto the stage. We all made a lot of noise for him!
I took my dad with me for the trip, and in between film screenings, awards ceremonies and champagne receptions we strolled around beautiful Monaco. I marvelled at the super-yachts in the harbour, spoke French rather rustily and had a day out in nearby Nice.
The last night of the week was the most fun for everyone. The nerves and tension of the awards were over and we all let our hair down at the festival closing party!
Thank you Monaco International Film Festival, you certainly know how to throw a party!!!
